Dr. Joseph Bulsys, an Associate Professor from the State University of New York at Geneseo, a recipient of a Fullbright teaching scholarship financed by the Fullbright programme of the U. S. State Department will be an instructor at Alytaus kolegija during spring semester 2014. He will teach courses in Public Address and Intercultural Communication to Lithuanian and international students attending the institution. His doctoral degree is in the academic discipline of communication with an emphasis on rhetorical studies. He is excited and grateful for the opportunity the Fullbright programme had provided to teach students and to interact with the administrators and staff of Alytaus kolegija to advance the academic goals of the institution and to promote international cooperation.



On 19 November 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed Nina Murray, Cultural Attaché of the Embassy of the USA in Lithuania. In the meeting the guest presented the activities of the Embassy, Fullbright programme, MOOC internet platform and possibilities of studies in the USA. In the evening the Embassy of the USA invited the community of Alytus to the concert of “The Ari Roland Jazz Quartet” in Alytus city theatre.



On 7 November 2013 INTERNATIONAL ASSESSMENT OF ACCOUNTING STUDY PROGRAMME takes place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.

EUROPEAN ENERGY TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION POLICY REVIEW. DEVELOPMENT OF INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGIES FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES: STRATEGY DISCUSSION took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.








On 11 - 24 July 2013 Summer School for students and teachers from Baku Business University, Azerbaijan was hosted at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.




Internal Study Quality Management System is implemented at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences. Internal Study Quality Management System is certified as conforming to the Standard of Management System and ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA IS awarded with the certificate ISO 9001:2008.



On 26 June 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed Filip Sikora – Chancellor, dr. Włodzimierz Masierak – Head of Department of Informatics and Mechatronics and Łukasz Jasiński – Director of International Office from University of Economics in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Bilateral cooperation agreement was signed.



On 25 June 2013 Final international conference EXCHANGES OF EXPERIENCE - A CHALLENGE TO THE QUALITY OF THE STUDIES AND EMPLOYMENT of the sub-project BORDER INFORMATION CENTRE under the INTERREG IVC mini programme BRAIN FLOW took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.




On 1 – 6 June 2013 a delegation of ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences had an experience exchange visit in HAN University of Applied Sciences, the Netherlands in the frame of the sub-project STEP FORWARD – STUDENTS, TEACHERS, ENTREPRENEURS AND POLICY MAKERS NETWORK DEVELOPMENT under the INTERREG IVC Mini-Programme BRAIN FLOW.


On 28 May 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed a group of visitors from Belarus who participated in the II BELARUS – LITHUANIA REGIONAL COOPERATION FORUM.


On 24 May 2013 students and teachers of ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences participated in the 8th Scientific International Conference STUDENTS ON THEIR WAY TO SCIENCE at Latvia University of Agriculture, Latvia.



On 20–24 May 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed foreign consultant Luc Broes (Plantijn University College, Belgium) under the project IMPROVEMENT OF AK STUDY QUALITY AND INCREASE OF INTERNATIONALISATION BY UPDATING THE STUDY PROGRAMMES OF BUSINESS MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGIES OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS.



On 16 May 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences hosted final international conference DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNAL STUDY QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA. INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES 2013: THEORY, PRACTICE, INNOVATIONS under the European Social Fund project DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNAL STUDY QUALITY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AT ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA.


On 22 April – 3 May 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed Dr. Jan-Urban Sandal (Norway) to teach a two-week course SOCIAL ENTREPRENEURSHIP. The teaching visit was founded by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Lithuania.



0n 9 - 11 April 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed foreign consultants: Richard Gatward (Coventry University, United Kingdom), Tommy Heunks and Dré Jaspers (AVANS, Academy of ICT and Business, the Netherlands) under the project Improvement of AK Study Quality and Increase of Internationalisation by Updating the Study Programmes of Business Management and Technologies of Information Systems.


0n 24 - 28 March 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed Aleksandra Jankowiak-Bernaciak from State Higher Vocational School in Gniezno (Poland) as Erasmus teacher.
The topics of her lectures were as follows: Advertising - an art form or the art of deception?, A perfect organisation - a way of the future or Utopia? and What's it like to live and study in Gniezno?




On 17 – 20 February 2013 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed a group of visitors from IUT de Vélizy and L’Institute des Sciences et Techniques des Yvelines (ISTY) of the Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ). The guests Pascal RUAUX, Nelly GAUTHIE, Etienne HUOT, Pierre BLAZEVIC and Patricia ROIG met the members of respective study programme committees, faculty deans and heads of departments. Memorandums of Understanding for cooperation of the three institutions in the activities of student and teacher mobility and applied research were signed.

On 12-14 December ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed Dr Jan-Urban Sandal (Norway) who delivered his international study course "Social Entrepreneurship". Dr Jan-Urban Sandal is well established business and economic development researcher and international expert on innovation and social entrepreneurship. His fields of activity include research, development programmes, lecturing, seminars, professional training and courses within social entrepreneurship, social science and humanistic disciplines with special emphasis on innnovation and entrepreneurship. Dr Jan-Urban Sandal collaborates with researchers, lecturers, entrepreneurs, students and practitioners in Norway and across the world.



From 27 November to 5 December 2012 Danutė Remeikienė, Director and Rozalija Radlinskaitė, Head of International Office visited Rochester (the USA) and several of its academic institutions invited by the Alytus-Rochester Sister Cities Committee of Rochester, New York and State University of New York at Geneseo (S.U.N.Y. Geneseo).



On 21-22 November 2012 ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences hosted project partners from the sub-project “STEP Forward – Students, Teachers, Entrepreneurs and Policy Makers Network Development” under the INTERREG IVC Mini-Programme „Brain Flow“. The project partner meeting programme also included a visit to Alytus Regional Labour Exchange where the participants of the partner meeting were introduced to active measures aimed at stimulating labour market and enhancing employability and the current situation in the national and regional labour market.

On 14 November 2012, ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences welcomed ELLEN HOLLCROFT and members of the United States Embassy of Lithuania for a lecture on Protecting Intellectual Property. Ms. Hollcroft shared a presentation on the various types of intellectual property coverage available for inventions, trademarks, software, and creative arts and designs including: patents; industrial designs; copyright; and creative commons licenses. She spoke about the importance of developing intellectual property to the development of industry throughout Lithuania as well as the changing laws with regard to copyright. Ellen Hollcroft has a Bachelors of Science in Biology, a Masters in Business Administration, and a law degree from the University of Nebraska. She is U.S. Patent and Trademark Attorney who works in Singapore.



On 21 October - 2 November 2012 a group of students from Lillebaelt Academy of Professional Higher Education (Denmark) studied the modules of International Financial Markets (docent Dr Aleksandra Pečiūrienė) and Culture of Organization (lecturer Irena Kupčinskienė). During their stay at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences the students and their teachers John Maahr Hansen and Charlotte Gierahn visited Danish capital companies and went sightseeing in Klaipėda and Vilnius. They also visited company group „Alita“, AB, Danske Bank A/S Alytus branch and UAB „Miroda“ in Alytus.

On 22 March 2011 Final conference of the project Cohesion of Science and Business in the Period of Recession in Alytus and Suwalky Regions SPF/LT/2009/14 took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.
The aim of the conference: generalization of experience of the project, dissemination of the results of the project and promotion of scientific - practical discussion on the questions of cohesion of science and business.



On 15 March 2011 Final conference of the project Development of Infrastructure in the Field of Technological Sciences in Alytus and Suwalky Regions SPF/LT/2010/18 took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.
The aim of the conference: promotion of scientific discussion on topical practical questions of transport technology specialists’ training.





This year ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences is commemorating the 10th anniversary of its successful activities and the 50th anniversary as an education institution.

On 10 November 2010 International scientific-practical conference DEVELOPMENT OF ACCOUNTING STUDIES AND STUDY PROCESS IMPROVEMENT ASPECTS took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences. The conference was organized by Department of Finance and Accounting of Faculty of Management of Alytus College and the Lithuanian Association of Accounting Researchers and Educators.



On 4 November 2010 International Practical Seminar MODERN AUTOMOBILE DIAGNOSTICS took place at ALYTAUS KOLEGIJA University of Applied Sciences.
